At the EDION Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japan, WBC junior flyweight champ Kenshiro Teraji (18-0, 10 KOs) continued his streak of wins with a dominant twelve round unanimous decision over top rated challenger Tetsuya Hisada (34-11-2, 20 KOs) to retain the title. (photo by Naoki Fukuda)

The scores were 118-109, 118-109 and 119-108.

Teraji controlled the majority of the contest and scored a knockdown with a big right hand in the second round. Hisada was never able to muster some momentum in the fight and was always one step behind as the rounds played out, but he was gutsy and tried to take chances when he could.

Hisada entered the fight on the back of a twelve round decision loss to WBA champion Hiroto Kyoguchi in October of 2019, in what was a much closer contest.

Prior to this most recent pair of defeats, Hisada was riding a 13 fight win streak.

The champion himself had not seen action since December of 2019, when he took out Randy Petalcorin in only the fourth round of a title defense.

The big fights for Teraji would be against the likes of his countryman Kyoguchi, IBF champion Felix Alvarado and WBO champion Elwin Soto.

Kyoguchi and Soto are now tied to Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing. Alvarado is contracted to Golden Boy Promotions. With all three being featured on DAZN, they are more likely to fight each other.
