Promoter Ben Shalom of Boxxer has revealed that former world champion Kell Brook is looking to return to the ring - and he's interested in facing the winner of Chris Eubank Jr. vs Liam Smith.

Eubank will collide with Smith in a middleweight clash this coming Saturday in Manchester.

Brook saw action last February, when he picked up a stoppage win over career rival Amir Khan.

Later in the year, the Sheffield boxer would announce his retirement from the sport.

According to Shalom, Brook will be ringside this weekend for Eubank-Smith.

"Kell will be there on Saturday. He's desperate for the winner of that fight. He wanted the Eubank fight after the Khan fight," Shalom told Sky Sports.

"He feels he wants the winner of this fight whether that's Liam Smith or whether that's Eubank Jr. There is a rematch clause, so if Liam does win Eubank will have the option with that one. But there'll be massive fights for whoever the winner is. Huge nights and Kell Brook definitely wants to be one of them."

Both Smith and Eubank are looking to use this fight as a springboard to secure a major opportunity in the middle of the year.

"Both of them want to fight again in the summer," Shalom said. "This a springboard to massive fights in 2023. But this is the one they're both focused on. Were Chris to lose this, it really will be difficult to come back from and Liam the same.

"The thing with Liam is he seems to have got better and better. Even the [Magomed] Kurbanov performance was good out in Russia and he's been more active than Chris, he's done a lot more rounds than Chris in the past couple of years. He feels good, he feels ready for this fight."
