Qais Ashfaq will return to the ring before the end of the year.

The Leeds man, who claimed Commonwealth Youth Games gold and silver in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, is undefeated in three outings since inking a pact with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.

Ashfaq, 25, was most recently in the ring back in September, at the Arena Birmingham, when he wiped out Liverpool’s Gary Austin inside a round on the undercard of Amir Khan’s victory over Samuel Vargas.

But he will grace the British boxing fans with his presence once more on December 8 at the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield, exclusively live on Sky Sports, as part of the supporting cast to Kell Brook’s WBA super-welterweight title eliminator showdown against former Commonwealth champion Michael Zerafa.

Ashfaq will feature on a card that will also play host to action for heavyweight David Allen and WBA International welterweight champion Josh Kelly.

Jono Carroll is set to face Frenchman Guillaume Frenois in a final eliminator for Tevin Farmer’s IBF super-featherweight world title, while Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan’s appearance on the bill could yet be canned.

Boxing Scene understands the show’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, is planning to add Anthony Fowler, the Commonwealth Games gold medallist, to the card in a title fight.
