Top Rank is putting together a doubleheader for September 12, at the MGM Conference Center in Las Vegas, according to ESPN Deportes.

The likely main event will match welterweight contenders Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Amir Imam in a crossroads clash.

Kavaliauskas, an Olympian from Lithuania, has been out of the ring since suffering a TKO defeat in his world title challenge Terence Crawford last December. And Amim has been away from the ring since February of 2019, when he lost an eight round unanimous decision to Javier Molina.

Another defeat for either man could spell the end of their days as a top contender.

In the other bout, Colombian featherweight contender Miguel 'Escorpión' Marriaga could face once-beaten Mexican-American contender Joet González.

Marriaga was unable to fight during the year, with two planned bouts being canceled.

He was first scheduled to fight in March in a world title against then WBO champion Shakur Stevenson at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, but the entire event was canceled at the last minute due to the cornavirus pandemic.

And then last month his planned bout in Las Vegas was canceled, also at the last minute, when opponent Mark John Yap was nearly nine pounds over the contracted weight and the Nevada Commission would not allow the bout to push forward.

Gonzalez has been out of the ring since losing a twelve round decision, last October, in a grudge fight with Shakur Stevenson for the vacant WBO title.

The winner of their fight would move a step closer to another potential world title shot.
