Like their first meeting, Delfine Persoon brought tons of pressure (73.5 punches per two-minute round to Katie Taylor's 30.8) and, like fight one, Persoon landed more total punches than Taylor (116-103 overall in fight one, 107-95 total in fight two) because she landed more jabs (she led 33-10 in fight one and 30-10 in fight two).

But unlike fight one -- which Taylor won by unpopular majority decision -- Taylor captured a more decisive unanimous verdict because she was much more accurate this time around (31% overall, 42% power in fight two compared to 25% overall and 29% power in fight one), was better defensively (yielding 15% overall, 13% jabs and 15% power today compared to 20% overall, 15% jabs and 23% power in fight one), inflicted significant facial damage (Persoon's right cheek was swelled in round two and her left eye cut in round nine), demonstrated superb mobility and ring generalship and connected with crisp power counters throughout. In fact, Taylor led 85-77 in power connects, just like she had in fight one (93-83).

Finally, unlike fight one in which Persoon (and many others) thought she had won, the rematch saw the sportsmanlike Belgian acknowledge that Taylor merited the win. While Persoon did accumulate larger raw totals, she needed more than twice as many punches in order to do so. Scoring: 96-94 (2x), 98-93 T.
