After nearly a decade, professional boxing makes its return to Harrisburg, PA on Saturday, February 12 at the Zembo Shrine in the new headlining fight series, Capitol Punishment. Fights start at 7pm EST.

The series, presented by Payton Promotions, kicks off by bringing the most talented fighters in Pennsylvania together for true grudge match fights to determine the best fight town in the area. The card features fighters from Philly, Pittsburgh, Allentown, Harrisburg, and York. The battles they wage will elevate each fighter's respective city, and bring them one step closer to the ultimate goal of a world title.

"You see it in different sports all over the world, every city fights to be regarded as the best," says Nick Payton, CEO of Payton Promotions. "Well we're giving Pennsylvania a chance to settle this dispute inside the ring, and what better place than just a few blocks from the capital building!"

The main event of the inaugural fight series features Tommy Karpency (20-2, 13 KOs) from nearby Pittsburgh, PA in an 8-round light heavyweight fight. Tommy is ranked #12 in the world by the WBA and is quickly moving his way up the rankings in his quest for a world title. He faces off against rival Dallas Vargas (22-6, 16 KOs) from Toledo, OH. Vargas, who was born legally deaf, is also ranked as one of the top light heavyweights in the world and fights to be an inspiration to disabled children. Each fighter is looking for a world title shot in 2011, making this fight about as meaningful as it gets for their careers.

The co-main event showcases local York, PA phenom Stevie Weimer (5-0, 2 KOs) against Philadelphia's rugged Julias Edmonds (7-9, 0 KOs) in a 6-round light welterweight matchup. This will be the toughest test of Weimer's young career as his opponent has been in the ring with some of the best prospects in the world. Edmonds is a cut from the mold of battle-hardened fighters from the City of Brotherly Love. They take pride in the fact that Philadelphia has been known as a breeding ground for some of the best boxer's in the world. This fight will give Weimer the opportunity to prove that he's one of the best up and coming prospects in the light welterweight division.

Capitol Punishment will also serve as the pro debut for homegrown Josh Bowles of Harrisburg, PA. He is a former 3x Pennsylvania Gold Gloves Champion and will be putting his flashy style on display for his hometown fans as they get a rare glimpse at the early development of a sure fire star.

In other action, the card will also feature local fighters Grayson Blake of State College, PA, Epifanio Rodriguez of Harrisburg, PA and Travis Thompson of Allentown, PA.
