WBO super middleweight ex-champion Karoly Balzsay, who lost his title in a very tough fight to Robert Stieglitz on the 22nd of August, in his hometown, Budapest, talked about his reflections, and the potential reasons of his loss, to the hungarian RTL Klub TV channel.

“I try to think over, what we have bitched in the course of the preparation, or the accomplishing of the weight limit. This could be the liquid intake, the too high pace, and the too many power punches, which I hit. There were a lot of tiny things, that went wrong, and the combined effects of these factors caused this great decline in the 6-7 rounds. I felt during the preparation, that it was a little bit too much for me, it began to be too monotonous, and this high pace was typical of my whole year too. It was my third word title bout in this year, and I hadn’t got enough time to relax," Balzsay said.

"Maybe, this was the reason, why I became indifferent. I hadn’t got any problems with my weight, but I’ve been too strict, and came close to the weight limit too early. I haven’t talked to the Universum Box Promotion about my future yet, but I’ve heard their statement, that they take my part, and help me rebuild my career. It’s very positive and very good. I had a talk with my trainer, who said, that we would analyze the mistakes, when he arrived from the USA, but I had to relax now. A rematch with Stieglitz is the part of the package, but we can speculate on the belts of the other organizations too.”
