WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda (31-0, 19KOs) has been told by his adviser, Al Haymon, that a unification with WBA champion Jamie McDonnell (25-2-1, 12KOs) is up next in 2015.

Kameda made two defenses of his title in 2014. McDonnell captured the vacant belt in May with a tenth round TKO of Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat and then retained the title in November with a decision win over Javier Chacon. Kameda was last seen in November, winning a twelve round decision win over mandatory challenger Alejandro Hernandez.

"I am very grateful to Haymon, for the opportunity, as he has accomplished getting me a unification fight with McDonnell," Kameda said to NotiFight/BoxingScene. "Now, we are very motivated and happy. After I beat McDonnell, I want to look for great fights. "
