Boxing is back on The Plus.

Rising unbeaten heavyweight Agit Kabayel (19-0, 13KOs) of Bochum, Germany makes his first ring appearance of 2020, as he takes on countryman Egvenios Lazaridis. Their 10-round bout tops a six-fight card, with select fights to stream live on ESPN+, beginning at 3:00pm ET (9:00pm local time) live from Seebühne Elbauenpark in Magdeburg, Germany.

Kabayel (19-0, 13KOs) tipped the scales at 236.75 pounds for what will end a 16-month ring hiatus. Lazaridis (16-2, 10KOs)—a 6’6” Greek heavyweight now based out of Frankfurt—checked in at 255 pounds.

The show will take place in front of a limited number of spectators in attendance, in accordance with social distancing measures.

Adding to a series of firsts, Saturday’s headliner will also mark Kabayel’s first fight as a Top Rank boxer although the event is locally promoted by Ulf Stenforth’s SES Sports Events GmbH. Kabayel inked a promotional pact with Top Rank last September, shortly after vacating his European heavyweight title in abandoning talks for a title defense versus England’s Joe Joyce.

The 27-year old contender remains best known for his 12-round majority decision win over veteran gatekeeper Dereck Chisora in November 2017. Just two bouts have followed, including a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Andriy Rudenko last March in Magdeburg.

Lazaridis carries into the event a four-fight winning streak, though largely coming against non-descript competition. The 32-year old has been more active than Kabayel, fighting three times in 2019 including an eight-round win over Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko last November in the Treptow section of Berlin, Germany.
