BoxingScene.com spoke to IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage about a potential upcoming fight with his mandatory challenger Sechew Powell. Various media outlets have reported that the fight is a done deal and that it will take place on the undercard of the HBO televised fight between Devon Alexander and Lucas Matthysse on June 25th.

Bundrage advised BoxingScene that he has not signed a contract for the fight. "I don't know what they are talking about. I see that up at boxrec and other places. You can't believe everything you read unless its on BoxingScene."

The former Contender series star wanted to make it clear that he had no problem facing Powell who is the #1 mandatory challenger to his belt. "I have no problem fighting Powell. He is the #1 guy. All they have to do is make a fair deal and get the money right. We ain't ducking no one.  What they offered me isn't a fair deal."

The Detroit, Michigan native also said that he has heard his name mentioned as a possible opponent for Paul Williams or Sergiy Dzinziruk. "I heard that I am a possible opponent for Paul Williams or Dzinziruk. Maybe Williams people don't want to put him in there with me." Bundrage said that he would love to get in the ring with either of those two fighters.

Bundrage hasn't fought since winning his title versus Cory Spinks this past August. He recently celebrated his 38th birthday and hopes that now that he is a year older he will have a better chance at landing fights. "I have been out of the ring for 8 or 9 months now. That is too long. I just turned 38 years old so maybe now I can get a fight (laughing). I am getting better with age like my guys Bernard Hopkins and Glen Johnson," said Bundrage.
