Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos will be entering the world of boxing.

In the last few weeks, the 37-year-old fighter was making headlines in the world of professional wrestling. He was recently seen taking part in some action with AEW (All Elite Wrestling).

It was revealed on Tuesday that Dos Santos signed an agreement with S-Jam Boxing, who guide the careers of boxers such as Joe Joyce, Lerrone Richards, Johnny Fisher, Guido Vianello, and others.

Dos Santos was released from the UFC after suffering a loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC 256 in December of last year.

For the MMA veteran it was his fourth loss in a row - with the other defeats coming against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Curtis Blaydes, and Francis Ngannou.

In August, Dos Santos revealed that he was in talks with several MMA companies, and was also exploring the possibility of Bare Knuckle Fighting and entering the sport of boxing.

“We were talking with bare-knuckle (BKFC), Bellator, PFL, some boxing conversations as well,” Dos Santos told MMA Junkie.

“I would love to do a boxing fight, but it’s hard to find heavyweights with enough courage to take a fight. These guys are just talking, but let’s see what’s gonna happen. I’m not in a rush. I’m enjoying my time and as soon as we have a good deal, we’re gonna move on. My next step is, and I feel like it’s an important step, I just don’t want to go ahead and do it. I want to do it right.”

Dos Santos is not the first, or the last, former UFC champion to cross over to the boxing ring. In 2021, Anderson Silva won an upset decision over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and then a few months later he knocked out Victor Ortiz. Back in August, Tyron Woodley lost an eight round decision to Jake Paul.
