Julius Jackson will make his long-awaited debut on the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) circuit, as the unbeaten super middleweight faces Jose Uzcategui on the October 6 installment of Fox Sports 1's 'PBC on Fox: Toe-to-Toe' series.

A venue has yet to be announced for the show, though likely to land in Las Vegas or elsewhere on the U.S. West Coast as part of an elimination series to establish a mandatory challenger for super middleweight champ James DeGale. The latest addition to the growing PBC schedule gives the Tueday night Fox Sports 1 series six consecutive weeks beginning with its September 8 debut in Hollywood, California.

Jackson (19-0, 15KOs)—who along with his younger brother John Jackson served on the 2008 Virgin Island Olympic boxing team—fights for the first time in 2015. His last fight came days after signing with Al Haymon, knocking out Jonathan Nelson in the 9th round of a Shobox telecast last December.

The hard-hitting super middleweight contender was initially due to face Rogelio Medina on the September 26 undercard of Deontay Wilder's heavyweight title defense versus Johann Duhaupas in Birmingham, Alabama. The bout—in particular, Medina's status—was always in question, with PBC brass opting to move Jackson to his own headliner once a new opponent was secured.

His showdown with Uzcategui comes on the heels of John Jackson making his PBC debut in August, scoring a 10-round decision over Dennis Laurente in the August 2 premier edition of PBC on Bounce TV.

Uzcategui (23-1, 19KOs)—born in Venezuela but who now lives in and fights out of Mexico—fights for just the second time in the United States.

The tough-as-nails brawler suffered the lone loss of his career in his previous stateside appearance, a 10-round decision to Matt Korobov in a matchup of unbeaten middleweights last June. He has since rebounded with a 1st round knockout at home in Mexico earlier this year.

Jackson's father is famed former middleweight champion Julian Jackson, widely regarded as one of the hardest pure punchers in boxing history.
