Former world champion Julio "Pollito" Ceja (32-2- 28 KOs) stayed on track to world title shot with a win over Venezuelan Breilor Teran in Chetumal, Mexico.

In a duel for the super bantamweight silver title of the World Boxing Council, Ceja fought a battle of sweat and blood against in the "Palace of Sports Erick Paolo Martínez" of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, against Teran - which allowed him to remain as the mandatory challenger for the championship of the World Boxing Council at 122-pounds.

After twelve rounds, the scorecards favored Ceja with tallies of 114-113, 115-112 and 118-109.

In the initial round, Ceja dropped the Venezuelan boxer and even cut him on the left eyelid, although he could not finish him.

With great force, the Mexican boxer continued the attack, but Teran has a tricky style that caused some frustration.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, the Mexican bled from the nose, although he continued to dish out the offense in their brawl. With the jab, Teran could bother him and he also used hard the left hook, which caused swelling on the right eye of Ceja.

In the last two rounds, the fight was a give and take, both tried to ensure victory before everything went to the judges.

With the victory, Ceja is waiting to face the winner of the upcoming bout on December 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York between world champion Rey Vargas and challenger Oscar Negrete.

IN OTHER RESULTS: Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo won a twelve round unanimous decision victory against durable Japanese fighter Shota Hayashi in the main event of Pinoy Pride 43 in Tagbilaran City in the Philippines.

While he hurt Hayashi several times, he was never able to get to him in down or had him close to being stopped.

Magsayo raised his record to 18-0 with 13 knockouts.

“Prince” Albert Pagara knocked out Mohammed Kambuluta of Tanzania. Pagara now has 29 victories against 1 defeat after a second round TKO.
