New York - Not many people gave Julian “Jrock” Williams (27-1-1, 16 KO’s) much of a shot to beat Jarrett Hurd (23-1, 16 KO’S) this past May. Williams was rebduiling his career from a knockout loss to Jermall Charlo, and Hurd was defeating and overpowering opponents in his run at 154.

Williams however outboxed Hurd and dropped him en route to becoming the IBF junior middleweight champion. The two were supposed to have a rematch this December 14th, but Hurd - who recently changed his trainer - pulled out of the fight.

“I can’t tell you what happened with the rematch,” Williams told BoxingScene.com “You have to ask Jarrett Hurd what happened with that. 2020, I think I got a lot of big fights happening for me.”

Williams had been mentioned to have been in talks to fight Erislandy Lara (26-3-3, 15 KO’s).

And while the once-beaten champion has not turned down any fights - he makes it clear that everyone in the opposite corner would have to agree to random drug testing. He feels strongly that his stance would create an indicator of who is clean - based on who agrees to fight him or walks away from the table.

“If they don’t want to fight me because of that - then you know who's dirty and who’s clean,” explained Williams.

"I want to fight on an even playing field. Every time you go into the ring, you lose a part of yourself inside the ring. I don’t want to go into the ring with someone that’s jacked up cause I’m a 100 percent clean athlete.”

Williams is under the Premier Boxing Champions banner and there are so many fights available at 154 and 160. During a recent episode of Inside The PBC,  Williams turned down Dominic Breazeale’s notion of fighting Danny Garcia when he mentioned that as a possible fight. Williams would rather fight with other champions, and rematches with Hurd and Jermall Charlo (29-0, 21 KO’s) are definitely on his list.

“I would hope he wants the rematch,” William said of fighting Jermall Charlo at 160. “I’m not going to be able to hold this weight for much longer. I’m a go about to 60 soon and we going to see. We under the same umbrella it isn’t that many 54 and 60 fighters out there. I think there’s a possibility to fight Charlo Hurd, Harrison, Lara or the other Charlo.”
