Some of the top, young featherweights in boxing today are promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. It was only a matter of time before they would eventually face off.

Two of them will do so on June 4.

Julian Ramirez and Abraham Lopez, both of whom are unbeaten, will square off, manager Joel De La Hoya told BoxingScene.com.

De La Hoya manages Ramirez.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Stubhub Center in Carson, Calif. The bout will precede the highly-anticipated showdown between WBO junior lightweight titleholder Francisco Vargas and challenger Orlando Salido.

Both bouts will air live on HBO.

Ramirez and Lopez, along with Joseph Diaz and Manuel 'Tino' Avila, have fought on recent 'Boxeo Estelar' fight cards in Southern California, where they have built their records against modest opposition.

The match-up between Ramirez and Lopez, both of whom reside in Southern California, is compelling as it puts two aggressive boxer-punchers against one another.

Ramirez (16-0, 8 KOs) won a one-sided 10 round decision over former contender Christopher Martin in his last bout on Jan. 29.

In his previous bout on October 3, Ramirez, who is now being trained by former world titleholder Wayne McCullough, won a 10 round decision over Hugo Partida.

The southpaw Ramirez, who resides in East Los Angeles, has won his last three bouts by decision.

Lopez (20-0-1, 15 KOs) also fought on the January 29 fight card Ramirez appeared on. On that night, Lopez stopped Carlos Valcarcel after the seventh round.

The 28-year-old Lopez, who resides in nearby La Puente, has won his last three bouts in a row by knockout. He returned to the ring in March of last year after a three-year hiatus, where he completed his education as a respiratory therapist.
