WBO light heavyweight champion Juergen Brähmer (36-2-0 (29KOs) can now fully concentrate on defending the title on the 21st of May in London's Wembley Arena against local hero Nathan Cleverly 21-0-0 (10KOs) focus. The regional court has cleared the boxer of a criminal conviction for assault and insult to the WBO world champion light heavyweight from the Hamburg Universum boxing stable in the second instance set that.

"We are naturally pleased and happy that the matter is over. However, I always knew Jüdrgen was innocent," said Universum boss Klaus-Peter Kohl.

All of charges against him have been dropped. The judicial authority found no evidence that he had beaten, in 2008 in his home city of Schwerin, a restaurant owner. 

There was no evidence of these allegations," said lawyer John Eisenberg.

In the first trial, he was convicted in January of last year by the District Court after eleven days of hearings. He was given a prison sentence of one year and four months. Brähmer then appeakked the verdict of the prosecution.
