This past Saturday night in Bayamon, former two-division world champion Juan Manuel Lopez (34-3, 31 KO's) returned on the winning path and gave his career a new boost with a two-round stoppage of Daniel Ponce de Leon (45-6, 35 KO's) in their super featherweight rematch. Juanma was dropped in the second, but recovered and scored two knockdowns of Ponce De Leon, before finishing him off against the ropes as referee Luis Pabon jumped in to wave things off.

"I proved a lot to me people who did not believe in me. I'm super happy. I want to resume my career. We still have something. He caught me but he did not hurt me. I followed the instructions [of my corner] and I capitalized. I put him down with the same right hand [that I used on him in 2008]. I fight whoever the promoter tells me to. I have never said no. This was a very important fight for me. [Ponce] was in bad condition. The referee did his job and I did mine," Juanma said.
