Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada is preparing for the first defense of the super flyweight crown of the World Boxing Council, which is coming against American contender Dewayne Beamon on August 24 at the Multiple Use Center in Hermosillo, Sonora.

The fight will be carried by the DAZN streaming service.

Estrada wants to look good before his people, since the boxer has not fought on Mexican soil since March 2017.

In addition, it took Estrada several years to capture the green and gold belt he's been pursuing for a long time and he does not intend to lose it that easily.

Estrada is taking Beamon very seriously and expects him to be a very tough opponent.

“Beamon is a complete, fast fighter, but we will make him change up his style. We are preparing to give a great fight, we are mentally prepared for a war of twelve rounds. We returned to Mexico happy, and as a champion... with a belt that I always wanted to have. The dream of having it was fulfilled and now we are going to defend it," said Estrada, who is originally from Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.

Estrada, who will arrive with a record of 39-3.26 KOs, wants a luxury debut, so he's planning to be very aggressive in the contest and intends to take the fight to his opponent.

“We are going to make a war and I am sure that it could be a candidate for the Fight of The Year. And if the knockout occurs, that would be very good, but I will allow that to happen on it's own," Estrada said.
