The Nicaraguan boxer Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (27-0, 23KOs) will face Argentina's Juan Carlos Reveco (25-1, 15KOs), in February 2011, which should leave a single flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA). Venezuela's Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, executive vice president of the WBA, ordered the two fighters to collide in February. Reveco is the full champion with Gonzalez as the interim-champion.

"The order of the WBA is that both Gonzalez and Reveco meet in February. It is the decision of the world championship committee and we will stand firm in our decision," said Mendoza Jr. "We will have the two champions fight each other to leave a single champion at the weight. Promoter Akihiko Honda is looking for a date in February for the fight.

Reveco and Gonzalez will face off with a 55-45 split of the money in the full champion's favor.
