Former WBC cruiserweight champ Juan Carlos Gomez, 53-3, outclassed Czech journeyman Jindrich Velecky, 19-26, over eight last night in Hamburg. Gomez is said to have looked good but couldn´t stop Velecky. Working Gomez´ corner was former WBO lightweight king Artur Grigorian, who also was the man in charge of Aleksander Alekseev´s camp prior to his fight against Yoan Pablo Hernandez as head coach Fritz Sdunek was in Cologne handling Felix Sturm´s training for his fight December 7 against Darren Barker.

 

In the co-headliner promoter and super middleweight Ismail Ozen, 8-1-1, struggled to outscore Vladimir Fecko, 6-63-3 also over eight.

 

In other action cruiser Yavuz Keles, 8-7-1, got DQ'd in very first round against Leon Harth, 6-0 and at light heavy Abel Gevor, 4-0, stopped Latvian Ricards Bolotniks, 1-1, in the third.
