In the co-feature of the Golden Boy Promotions card, fringe junior bantamweight contender Juan Carlos Camacho, Jr. knocked out Jorge Orozco in the first round.

Camacho, Jr., who resides in nearby Juana Diaz, improved to 16-1, 7 KOs.

The fight between Camacho and Orozco was another chapter in the epic rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico. Unfortunately for Orozco, the fight did not go as planned.

With about a minute left in the opening round, Camacho threw and landed a left hook to the body, dropping Orozco to both knees. Orozco beat the count, but was dropped again by two vicious left hooks to the body. Referee Melva Santos immediately stopped the fight at 2:31.

Orozco remained on the canvas for several minutes until he was able to sit on his stool, and eventually stand and walk out of the ring under his own power.

The 26-year-old Camacho defeated Carlos Buitrago by decision in his previous fight on April 1. Aside from a No-Contest against Lucas Fernandez in October 2019, Camacho has now won his last 10 bouts.

Orozco, who resides in Guadalajara, Mexico, had not fought since a split decision draw on April 29 of last year. Orozco has won two fights in his last five bouts.
