ORANGE - There comes a time in every young fighter’s career when he must step up and prove whether he can sink or swim against experienced opposition that would like nothing better than to pin the first loss on a prospect’s record.

On Friday, July 25, at Omega Products International in Corona, California, that time has come for unbeaten featherweight Juan Carlos Burgos, who will take on 24-fight veteran Andres Ledesma in an eight round clash that will headline Thompson Boxing Promotions’ latest ‘Path to Glory’ show.

Tickets to ‘Path to Glory', a six bout card of world-class professional boxing, are priced at $75, $45 and $30 and may be purchased by calling 714-935-0900. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the first bell is at 7:45 pm. Omega Products International is located at 1681 California Ave., in Corona.

The hard-hitting nephew of former world flyweight champion Victor Burgos, Juan Carlos Burgos (18-0, 14 KOs), is making his own name in the boxing business with a two-fisted attack that has fight-game insiders drooling over his potential.  The WBC Continental Americas featherweight champion, Burgos, who most recently defeated Rafael Urias over ten rounds in April, is closing in on the elite of the featherweight division with each passing victory. In Colombia’s Andres Ledesma, (14-9-1, 9 KOs), he will not only be facing a seasoned battler with knockout power, but one who issued highly-touted Gary Stark Jr. his first pro loss via knockout in May of 2007, making him the toughest test yet for the 20-year old Burgos.

Returning to the ring on July 25th will be Riverside middleweight Ivan Stovall (9-2, 6 KOs), a decorated United States amateur who competed in the 2004 Olympic trials and was a finalist in the Everlast US Championships. He is looking to bounce back from a controversial loss to unbeaten James Parison last October. Stovall’s opponent will be named shortly.

In a six round junior welterweight battle, unbeaten Riverside prospect Hector Serrano (7-0, 3 KOs) puts his perfect record on the line against Las Vegas’ Lester Belmores (4-8-1, 1 KO).

Also in action, bantamweight knockout artist Felipe Orcuta (11-0, 10 KOs) hopes to score his eighth consecutive KO at the expense of LA’s Alvaro Muro (5-9, 5 KOs)

Rounding out this hard-hitting night of action will be a four round super bantamweight bout between debuting Walter Sarnoi and 1-0 Jesus Adame, and a junior middleweight four rounder pitting 4-0 (2 KOs) Mauricio Herrera against an opponent to be determined.
