Anthony Joshua has dug in a deep jab on his former challenger Jarrell Miller.

Miller was due to face the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion Joshua in New York on June 1, only for promoter Eddie Hearn to reveal the unbeaten challenger had failed three drug tests. Because on those infractions, the New York State Athletic Commission refused to grant him a license and Miller was quickly removed from the fight.

Joshua, who is 22-0 and set to fight outside United Kingdom for the first time, is hopeful a new opponent will be announced in the coming days.

Back in February, the two boxers exchanged words in a heated press conference.

During their exchange, Joshua told Miller - "Where's your mum? You're lucky I pay her rent now, you should bow to me when you see me."

Even with Miller out of the fight, Joshua wants to assure the Brooklyn boxer that he's a man of his word.

"And by the way," Joshua said to Miller's mother. "I still love you. If there's anything I can do for you, just let me know. I'm a man of my word Jarrell, I'll still pay your mum's rent.

"He's [Eddie Hearn] doing the negotiations, he's having the conversations. Hopefully, it'll be in the next 48 hours or 72 hours we'll have an update. I keep my head down and try to stay out of trouble, that's the best thing I can do, and deliver in the ring. June 1, MSG, it's still going down. The landlord will still come and collect his rent."

Joshua also recently stated that Miller does not deserve to be in the ring after coming positive for banned performance enhancers EPO, HGH and GW1516.

"Just to say good luck to the kid Jarrell Miller whatever he does with his life," Joshua said. "As I said, I'm not going to knock you when he's down, but he doesn't even deserve to be in the ring with me or any other heavyweight right now.

"I don't know what the future holds – that's not up to me, that's up to the governing bodies. They'll make the right decision and right call in this situation."
