Undefeated junior welterweight contender Josh Taylor is very confident in his ability to defeat feared puncher Ivan Baranchyk.

They collide on Saturday night for the IBF super lightweight championship as part of the World Boxing Super Series semi-finals - which take place at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

"It's the moment I've dreamed for, becoming world champion," Taylor said to Sky Sports. "This is by far the biggest night of my life. It's huge. The crowd play a good part. They always make a hostile atmosphere and that'll hopefully play on Baranchyk's mind. If not, it doesn't matter because I'm going to win anyway. I'm going to be keeping the title in Scotland."

Taylor also has some punching power, with 14 wins on his record and 12 of those wins coming in by knockout.

Baranchyk will enter the contest with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach in the corner - which Taylor is not even worried about.

The winner of the contest will move forward to the WBSS finals - where one of the boxers will collide in a unification with WBA world champion Regis Prograis.

Taylor has studied several tapes of Baranchyk and expects him to apply pressure and come out swinging with big punches.

"Seven weeks with Freddie Roach is not enough time - if anything it's a bit of a disadvantage," said Taylor.

"It's not enough time to link up with a new trainer and to get to know him, and for him to know your strengths and weaknesses. He's very dangerous. He comes forward, every punch has got intent behind it. He's strong, fit and is in good shape. He's going to come and have a good go but I'm more than prepared for anything he brings to the table. I believe I've got an answer for everything that he does."
