New Zealand heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker's next fight will be against Australia-based Kali Meehan who ended Shane Cameron's boxing career last year.

Auckland-born Meehan, 45, holds a 42-win five-loss record. He unsuccessfully challenged Lamon Brewster for the WBO heavyweight title in 2004 in Las Vegas.

The pair will fight in Auckland on October 15.

Last week, Parker took little more than a minute to beat Australian Bowie Tupou in Invercargill to improve his unbeaten record to 15 wins, 13 by knockout.

"Win, lose or draw this is going to be my last fight and I want to end my career where it all began, in West Auckland," said Meehan.

"You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know a young fighter like Joseph will be instructed to tire someone like me out, but I'm ready for a war.

"I'm prepared for 12 rounds and want to end on a high."
