Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker would be open to the possibility of facing undefeated Filip Hrgovic, who is looking for a dance partner for an ordered IBF final eliminator.

The winner would fall in line for a potential world title shot against the victor of Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury.

Hrgovic was initially going to face Michael Hunter in the IBF's eliminator, but the contest fell apart after Hunter, for whatever reason, did not sign his portion of the contract for the fight.

Parker is next in line in the IBF's rankings. Parker is also highly ranked by the WBO, in the third slot.

Last month, Parker had to get off the deck to win a very tough twelve round split decision over Derek Chisora.

Parker's manager, David Higgins, will consider the scenario of a Hrgovic fight - if the right offer comes along from the Croatian boxer's promoter, Kalle Sauerland.

"It depends what the offer is," Higgins told Sky Sports. "It's [Hrgovic fight] something that we as a team would have to discuss and weigh up the risks and returns.

"Obviously, Joseph is ranked quite highly in three of the four credible sanctioning bodies. He doesn't need to rush into the wrong fight with any one of them, but if someone is to make contact and make an offer, it will always be considered. He [Parker] would genuinely face anyone, anywhere, if it's the right opportunity and the right time. An offer has to be put on the table for it to be considered."

At the same time, Higgins and his team are looking to see if Fury and Joshua finalize their unification.

If Fury-Joshua is made - their agreement calls for two fights, which is going to delay any mandatory shot until 2022.

"I'm not sure what the contracts for Fury and Joshua are. There is talk of two fights happening, but I'm not sure when, so I think anyone that's mandatory would have to wait in the queue and they might have to service other mandatories first," Higgins said.

"It depends on the lie of the land. I think even if you do end up in a mandatory position, you might still be waiting a year or more for a title shot, subject to what happens."
