Pro Box Promotions have announced an event taking place this coming May at Plant City, Florida’s, KO Addiction Boxing and Fitness Center.

Topping the card on May 1 will be welterweight Jose Miguel Borrego (18-2, 16KOs), with the hard-hitting Mexican looking to continue his impressive form as he continues his build towards major titles.

Pro Box Promotions proprietor, Garry Jonas, led Iron Mike Productions to success via multiple ways, however, one of those reasons was bringing all-action international talents to the United States. This theme has continued with Pro Box Promotions, as former internationally recognized amateur standout Commonwealth Games Silver Medalist Mandeep Jangra of India, who makes his professional debut.

Jonas, a former longtime business partner of Mike Tyson, discussed the May 1 event in Florida. “Boxing is all about building correctly and building fighters correctly in order for the fighter to obtain relative success in the correct manner. This card really represents the ideal steps for the individuals on it to be tested in a way that will be entertaining for those in attendance.

“The best talent in the boxing world is descending upon Florida at the moment, and we are continuing this trend with the Pro Box Promotions card on May 1. Mandeep Jangra will make his highly anticipated professional debut as he looks to make an instant impact amongst the welterweight ranks whilst becoming the next Indian sporting star.

“Jose Miguel Borrego will continue his development in the welterweight division. Borrego has a lot of professional experience for a fighter of his age and I believe he is going to be a champion in the coming years under the guidance of Marc Farrait and Asa Beard. I’m looking forward to seeing his continued improvements on May 1.”

Also featuring on the May 1 card are local talents Jeovanny Estela and Juysiah Shirley, with more names to be added in the coming weeks. Jonas discussed his philosophy in regards to working with local talents.

The Florida-based promoter stated, “I believe it is our duty as the elders of the boxing community to give opportunities to boxing’s future stars. That will be a common occurrence on Pro Box Promotions events moving forwards. We want to help guide the stars of tomorrow and you have to provide opportunities to those fighters in order to find out whether they are going to be a contender or not.
