In a fight short, but intense fight, former Nicaraguan champion Jose Alfaro scored three knockdowns over Mexico's Joel "Dinamita" Juárez, to grab a win by second round knockout in one of the major battles of the card "Shower of Stars", which was sponsored by Prodesa at the Events Center Hotel Camino Real in Managua.

Since the bell rang, Alfaro had no trouble with his tall and strong opponent and seemed unwilling to taste defeat. And he began to unload, as Alfaro sent him to the canvas in the first round with a powerful shot to the stomach.

But instead of being intimidated, the Mexican rose and kept attacking with strength in an urging short fight. Alfaro was struggling for a few moments because he could not get used to the style of the Mexican even though he sent him to the canvas at the start of the fight.

In the second, Alfaro continued commanding the attack and with a quick combination of a hook and uppercut, he sent the Mexican to the canvas, before sending him back to the canvas with a new combination. Thus, Alfaro scored the win to improve his record 24-6 with 21 knockouts, ensuring his next presentation for October 24 in Japan against Yohihiro Kamegai.

Also on the card, gifted Nicaraguan boxer Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, minimum champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), made short work of his opponent, Jesus Limones demolishing him in one and then knocking him out at the start of the second. Gonzalez's record rose to 26-0, 22 KOs, and Limones fell to 16-2-1. "Chocolatito" is scheduled for October 24 in Japan, in a defense of his WBA crown.
