Former world champion Jorge Castro of Argentina was seriously injured in a car crash near Buenos Aires. He suffered injuries to his knee and ribs. Castro is a veteran of 142 professional fights. He sports an unbelievable record of 129-10-3 with 89 KO's !

He has met the likes of recent Hall Of Fame inductee Terry Norris as well as Reggie Johnson twice and John David Jackson twice. If I remember right, Roy Jones Jr. stated that Castro was his toughest opponent on his way to a title shot. Castro split a pair of slugfests with the great Roberto Duran. These two bouts were nothing short of wars.We are talking about a real tough guy here.
He ranks right up there with the legends from Argentina like Monzon, Firpo, Bonavena, Loche, Gregorio Peralta, Jorge Ahumada and the great Victor Galindez
