Former champion Jorge Barrios (50-4-1, 35KOs) plans to resume his boxing career in 2013. Barrios, 36-years-old, has been out of the ring since October 2010. He was fighting numerous legal issues for the last few years, including an automobile accident that killed a 20-year-old pregnant woman.

The legal issues have been resolved and Barrios says "I will once again become champion or die trying." When the legal issues first began, Barrios was scheduled to fight Erik Morales in December 2010 but those legal troubles prevented him from leaving the country and going forward with the fight.

Last month, Barrios took part in an exhibition match with countryman Lucas Matthysse.

Barrios will probably campaign at either 135 or 140-pounds.
