WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce is training hard at the gym of Manuel "Cochul" Montiel in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. The Mexican multi-champion has made a demand for a rematch with Simphiwe Nongqayi, and he wants the fight to take place on September 17 in Mexico. The African boxer decisioned Arce in a super flyweight title bout in 2009.

"My next challenger will be the African Simphiwe. I have asked to fight him because this is something personal. There are thorns that one has to remove. I think it's time to expose my super bantamweight championship against Simphiwe Nongqayi. Simphiwe beat me in Cancun in September 2009 and took the IBF super flyweight world championship. I lost that fight because I did not prepare well. I want to erase this [loss], and therefore I asked for him to be my opponent on Sept. 17."

"Another challenge I'm going to assume that night is that somewhere else [Saul Alvaerz will be fighting]. I will prove that I can beat him in the television ratings while we're fighting at the same time."
