If there was any lesson learned in his most notable win to date, it’s that Jordan White is on his own journey.

A sixth-round knockout of unbeaten Misael Lopez on a March 2021 ShoBox telecast should have provided a breakout moment for the streaking junior lightweight from the greater D.C. area. Instead, he has been forced to come up the hard way just to make his way back to this platform.

“We getting ready for the world. You can expect a showtime for sure,” White said of his return to Showtime after more than two years.

The opportunity comes versus Dominican Republic’s Eridson Garcia (17-0, 11KOs), whom White (14-1, 10KOs) will face in a scheduled ten-round junior lightweight contest. Their bout tops a Showtime-televised ShoBox tripleheader this Friday from Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

It should have a simpler path for the 25-year-old prospect, though all he could do was keep his head down and not allow the game to hold him back.

So, he kept winning—ten in a row, in fact, and three since that night—to position himself where another televised win can finally provide those otherwise elusive opportunities. The win streak includes a ten-round, split decision victory over Brandon Valdez last February 19 in Hanover, Maryland, just outside D.C. as his home region where he’s fought in six of his last seven starts.

The lone defeat of his career came in a six-round decision to Adam ‘BluNose’ Lopez when both were unbeaten young prospects in their May 2017 FS1-aired contest. Facing stiff competition is hardly a new experience to White, who does his best to conquer one in particular every day.

“My toughest opponent is me,” White insisted, though in no way disrespectful to Garcia. “The only person that can get in my way is me. We don’t underestimate anyone but I feel like I’m my toughest opponent.
