Club Atlético Talleres, Villa Gobernador Galvez, Santa Fe, Argentina - Former WBA world featherweight champion Jonathan "Yoni" Barros won a ten round unanimous decision over Sergio Escobar to capture the WBC interim-Latino super featherweight crown.

Barros, ranked at ten by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and their current Latino champion at featherweight, dominated Escobar in the contest. He outworked and punished Escobar with hooks to the head and body. The judges scored it 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.

Barros increased his record to 38 wins (21 KOs), 4 losses and 1 draw. This makes it his fourth win in a row since losing to Mikey Garcia. While Escobar, falls to 26 wins (11 KOs), 24 defeats and three draws. In all of his defeats, Escobar has only been stopped three times.
