Lightweight Joel Diaz will fight Joaquim Carneiro Saturday night, promoter Steven Bash advised BoxingScene.com Thursday evening.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Los Angeles Badminton Club in El Monte, Calif.

Diaz (21-0, 17 KOs), who resides about an hour and a half away in Palmdale, has quietly built up an impressive record, fighting and defeating modest opposition.

In his last bout on January 30, Diaz stopped Abraham Lopez in the second round. He has stopped his last five opponents in a row.

Carmeiro (23-8, 21 KOs) was stopped in the fourth round of his last fight at the hands of unbeaten Kiryl Relikh on May 13.

The southpaw Carmeiro, who resides in Sao Paolo, Brazil, has lost two of his last three bouts.

Junior lightweight Rico Ramos (24-5, 12 KOs) will square off against Justin Savi in an eight round bout.

In his last bout on Jul. 25, Ramos was knocked out by Claudio Marrero. Savi (28-5-2, 18 KOs) is also coming off a knockout loss in his last fight, succumbing to Jhonny Gonzalez in the second round on Apr. 2.

In an intriguing crossroads clash, Virgilijus Stapulionus faces Nathaniel Gallimore in a 10 junior middleweight bout.

Stapulionus (26-3-1, 19 KOs) is unbeaten in his last five bouts. Gallimore (13-0-1, 10 KOs) has won his last four bouts in a row since fighting to an eight round split decision draw against Urmat Ryskeldiev.

Lightweight contender Denis Shafikov was scheduled to fight on the fight card on Saturday, but he pulled out to accept a fight with Jamel Herring on July 2 in Bethlehem, Penn.

Six more fights round out the card in El Monte, which is a suburb of Los Angeles.
