Manchester featherweight Joe Murray, 12-0 (5), has parted company with trainer Joe Gallagher and joined forces with the Failsworth-based Anthony Farnell as he attempts to reignite his career.

The 2008 Olympian got off to a busy start as a professional, but has made just one appearance since beating James Ancliff for the IBF Youth title eighteen months ago and has seen his progress stall. Despite the lack of action, 25-year-old Murray has retained a lofty position in the British rankings and is still seen as one of British boxing’s most promising fighters.

The arrival of Murray is a further boost to Farnell’s already exciting stable. “Arnie’s Gym” is already home to the likes of unbeaten British super flyweight champion Paul Butler, Ronnie Heffron and Matty Fagan and both fighter and trainer will be hoping that the link up will result in title glory in 2013.
