Unbeaten and always entertaining, Joe Laws has an old score to settle at #MTKFightNight in Newcastle on February 29 - live on iFL TV.

'The Benwell Bomber' (8-0, 4 KOs) tackles north-east rival Kris Pilkington and has revealed the pair have been involved in confrontations on the street; adding an extra spice to a collision that could steal a busy show at Eagles Arena.

One of Laws' previous victories at the venue prompted a female to throw off her clothes and streak through the crowd in celebration - and the ebullient local is confident of generating even more remarkable scenes against a bitter rival this time round.

Laws said: "I’m bringing streakers, cheerleaders – you name it; I’m bringing it all! It’s going to be fireworks in there, trust me.

"There’s a famous saying that what happens in sparring stays in sparring and what happens on the streets stays on the streets but basically, Kris slagged me off to the hilt a while ago. I think he was jealous at the time.

"When I saw him, I pulled him up on it and we exchanged words. Since then, we haven’t spoken and there is unfinished business. What better way to settle some beef than in the ring with a referee, just with our hands? May the best man win.

"I always train hard. I’m a fitness freak. This is just the icing on the cake. I can’t be beaten in any fight and now I’ve got extra motivation – I’m going to smash him up. I’m breezing this move down in weight.

"I believe I can make 135lb next year and take over the world. I’m not being arrogant or cocky – I’ve just got great belief in myself and my team. If I train hard, there’s no reason why not. I’ve got the support, so bring it on.

"Boxing in Newcastle can become massive in 2020. There’s myself and my gym-mate April Hunter making waves. You’ve got Josh Kelly, Lewis Ritson and Tommy Ward. It’s booming at the minute and I’m proud to be a part of it.

"The north-east is planning to take over boxing. We’ve got the stadiums and the arenas. Let’s fill them up. I’ve fought at the Eagles Arena twice now and both times, it’s been absolutely electric. I’m bringing a big squad of fans. Newcastle doesn’t forget!"

Joining Laws vs. Pilkington is a Northern Area welterweight title fight between Chad Ellis and Ellis Corrie plus the likes of April Hunter, Adam Gair, Lawrence Osueke and many more.
