The issue will finally be settled on which boxer is the actual WBC featherweight champion. The reigning champion Jhonny Gonzalez (51-7, 45KOs) will likely face the champion in recess, Elio Rojas (23-1, 14KOs) in early 2012. Gonzalez's promoters, Reginald and Osvaldo Kuchle, received a favorable ruling from the WBC at their annual convention in Las Vegas. In terms of the money, the WBC ruled that Gonzalez will receive a 60-40 split in his favor.

Gonzalez's handlers give the fight an 80% chance of taking place in early 2012, possibly in the month of March in Mexico.

"We talked to Jhonny and his team to set the date for the fight, according to his training schedule. They have already returned to Mexico. He wants to fight in Mexico, but is possible to relocate the fight wherever the fans know him very well," said Reginald Kuchle.
