WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (50-7, 44KOs) is wonder why Jorge "Travieso" Arce (58-6-2, 45KOs), the WBO's super bantamweight king, is no longer talking. For weeks, Arce was throwing challenges at Gonzalez, but nothing further has been heard for the last two weeks. Gonzalez feels the fight is easily marketable for the cable networks in the United States. But, he would demand a hefty million dollar purse if the promoters obtained a lucrative television fee from an American cable network.

"Arce was throwing various challenges, but he suddenly fell silent...probably after watching me knock Rogers Mtagwa out in two rounds [on September 15th]," Gonzalez said. "Look, this is a great fight, and it would sell on U.S. television. If we are going to face each other, as champions we need to get paid well. I would accept [the fight] if I was given a million dollars. If the promoters are going to secure [American] television rights, then we the fighters must also make great [money]."

Gonzalez is ready to defend his championship in November, and he doesn't care about the opponent.

"There is talk that it will be Elio Rojas, provided that his problems with Don King are fixed, or possibly Panamanian Roinet Caballero. At this weight I feel great. Best of all, after training I feel strong, which wasn't the case when I fought at junior featherweight and bantamweight. In those divisions it weakened me to make the weight. I sacrificed too much," Gonzalez said.
