After fighting in his native Colombia during the last couple of years, former junior featherweight world champion Jhonatan Romero is making another run at a world title belt.

Romero will fight Arturo Badillo tonight at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif. The eight-round bout will be part of a five-bout Thompson Boxing Promotions card.

Romero (27-1, 14 KOs) won the IBF junior featherweight title in February of 2013 with a 12 round split decision over Alejandro Lopez. In his first defense six months later, Romero was stopped in the sixth round by Kiko Martinez in Atlantic City, N.J.

Since then, Romero took some time away to allow his body to recover. He has won his last four bouts in a row.

In his last bout on Aug. 15, Romero won a 10 round unanimous decision over Freddy Beleno.

Badillo (21-8, 19 KOs) has lost his last four bouts in a row, and seven of his last eight.

In the main event, junior featherweight Isaac Zarate (12-1-1, 2 KOs) will fight Heriberto Delgado (11-3, 6 KOs) in an eight round bout.

Unbeaten heavyweight LaRon Mitchell (9-0, 9 KOs) will fight Quincey Palmer (9-7, 9 KOs) in a six round bout.
