Losing isn’t fun and Jesse Hart hasn’t enjoyed the rehabilitation process that his career has gone under. Still, what choice did the 34-year-old have? He placed his head down, gnashed his teeth together, and simply began putting in the work.

It may have taken nearly two years, but Hart has picked up four victories in a row. His latest came at the tail end of the year against Jeyson Minda and it essentially ticked the final box.

Hart is no longer interested in the super middleweight division’s bottom feeders. Instead, he wants to get his hands on one of the top dogs.

“I need a big name,” Hart told YSM Sports Media.

Luckily for Hart, he’s in a division where notable names roam. Caleb Plant, Canelo Alvarez, David Benavidez, and Jaime Munguia are amongst the best. Hart wouldn’t mind it one bit if he was given one of them. However, he looks at Jermall Charlo as his way to reach the top of the mountain.

If a matchup between them takes place, Charlo has to make his intentions clear. Currently, he still holds the WBC middleweight title but in his last ring appearance, he came into the ring weighing over 166 pounds. Charlo has also made it obvious that he fully plans on moving up to the super middleweight division.

Before he officially got rid of Jose Benavidez Jr., the boxing world wanted to know how a two-plus-year layoff would affect him. According to most, including Hart, he looked incredibly sharp.

The veteran contender has been known to throw a few curse-filled tirades in the direction of his competition. This time around, he played nice. From his point of view, Charlo is back and better than ever, making a showdown between them a great one.

“I think he looked phenomenal in his last fight. He looked good, he looked composed. I would love that fight with Jermall Charlo.”
