Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech is furious with the corner of former world champion George Kambosos.

On Sunday, at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Devin Haney outboxed Kambosos over twelve rounds to become the undisputed world champion at lightweight.

The judges issued scores of 118-110, 116-112, 116-112 - with Haney walking away with the WBC, WBO, IBF, WBA world titles.

It was Kambosos' first fight since shocking Teofimo Lopez last year for the WBA, IBF, WBO titles.

There is an immediate rematch clause - and the Australian star intends to exercise that option.

Haney, who entered the bout with the WBC strap, took full advantage of his longer reach by pumping a steady jab for the majority of the contest.

Kambosos was never able to make any proper adjustments and couldn't deal with the defensive abilities of Haney.

Fenech was significantly bothered that Kambosos' corner never urged him to get more aggressive and to go for a knockout in the later rounds. He feels that they allowed Kambosos to take part in a pure boxing match, which only benefited the style of Haney.

"If that was me [in Kambosos' corner] I would have been screaming my head off. If you're going to win, you've got to throw punches, throw punches in bunches,' Fenech said.

"George took risks and got rewards against Teofimo Lopez. In this fight he didn't. They must have known that was Haney's game, that's how he wins fights. He hits and doesn't get hit.

"But with George, there was no urgency in the corner. I guarantee you, you tell George to do something with urgency, he's that kind of warrior ... they just told him to box along. Round 10 and 11, they have to tell him, you've got to knock him out to win."
