Dierry Jean is normally a mild-mannered boxer outside the ring, but has shown a different side heading into this weekend's title fight showdown versus Terence Crawford at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Haitian-Canadian arrived into his opponent's hometown hell bent on making his presence felt, daring to steal the spotlight rather than accept his assumed place in the shadows. He wasn't present for the initial press conference to announce the fight back in September, with Team Crawford having fun at his expense I his absence.

It has remained fresh on Jean's mind throughout fight week, refusing to let Crawford forget all the up to and beyond tomorrow night's opening bell.

"I promise you on Saturday... not being disrespectful, bro but I'm going to best your ass," Jean told Crawford onsite during Thursday's press conference.

The moment was premeditated, as the challenger had been anxious to confront his opponent from the moment his 1,300-mile plane ride from Montreal touched down in Omaha.

As he sees it, the look and reaction offered by Crawford, as well as his demeanor told him all he needs to know.

"That's what this is all about," Jean (29-1, 20KOs) told BoxingScene.com of his time in the spotlight throughout fight week. "Some fighters talk just to talk. I'm here to fight and I want to make sure he knows it.

"I respect Terence Crawford, I think he deserves to be one of the best 10 fighters in the world pound for pound. But I see it in his eyes, he's stressed out and knows he HAS to look good otherwise he's letting everyone down.  I have nothing to lose, and I know I'm going to beat him."

Jean has won four straight following the lone loss of his career, a 12-round decision to Lamont Peterson last January in Washington D.C. With that, it's fitting his second

title shot once again comes in his opponent's hometown.

"Being the visitor doesn't concern me," said a confident Jean. "I've fought in front of big crowds before and won fights I was supposed to lose. I want everyone to remember how good he is when I'm the one to beat him and bring the title back home to Canada."
