ORLANDO – Undefeated Puerto Rican prospect Jean Carlos ‘Chapito’ Rivera, who is making his campaign in the Super Bantamweight division, signed a multi-year promotional contract with Top Rank®, the company that is lead by Hall of Fame promoter, Bob Arum.

Rivera, who possesses a perfect record of 5-0 and 3 knockouts, has had an excellent start to his career in which he has demonstrated that he has all the tools necessary to leave his mark in the sport of boxing.

“This is a dream come true for me. I feel very happy,” said the fighter who was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, but now resides in Orlando, Florida. “The hard work and all the sacrifices that we have made all this years are already paying off,” added Rivera.

‘Chapito’ considers himself as a classic boxer.

“I’m a fine boxer. I use angles, I use movements, and I use my legs. I consider myself as an old school fighter. Whatever I have to do to win, I will do it,” affirmed the 20 year old, who has won four of his five victories in Puerto Rican soil.

“I feel very proud of fighting in front of my people. I enjoy fighting in Puerto Rico a lot,” said the fighter who aspires to reach the level of big names in Boricua boxing, as: Miguel Cotto “because of the way he fights” and Felix ‘Tito’ Trinidad “because of the way he is loved by his fans.”

Rivera knows that to reach the level of Cotto and Trinidad he has to continue being focused and needs to continue looking good inside the squared circle.

“I expect to fight at least five times a year. I’m going to continue working hard in the gym to keep opening doors and reach the opportunity to fight for a world title,” concluded saying Rivera.

Details about Rivera’s next fight will be announced soon.
