Jarrell Miller overwhelmed Tomasz Adamek quickly on Saturday night.

The huge heavyweight contender knocked out the 41-year-old former two-division champion in the second round of their scheduled 12-rounder in Chicago. Miller hurt Adamek with a right uppercut that left Adamek in a squatting position early in the second round and then dropped him with another right uppercut several seconds later.

A disoriented Adamek got to his feet, but referee Mark Nelson wisely stopped the action 51 seconds into the second round of a fight DAZN streamed from DePaul University’s Wintrust Arena.

The 6-feet-4, 317-pound Miller (22-0-1, 19 KOs) out-weighed Adamek by 90 pounds when they weighed in Friday. That unusual size advantage proved to be entirely too much for the aged Adamek (53-6, 31 KOs), who weighed in at 227 pounds.

The 30-year-old Miller entered their fight as at least a 30-1 favorite by most Internet sports books over the Polish veteran.

Adamek had won three straight fights after Eric Molina knocked him out in the 10th round of their April 2016 fight. It didn’t take long to prove, however, that he didn’t belong in the ring with the much bigger, younger Miller.

Adamek was busy throughout the first round and landed several lefts to Miller’s body. Miller hit him with a right hand to the side of Adamek’s head about minute into the fight, which made Adamek move away from him.

Miller also hit Adamek with a left to the body later in the first round. Adamek doubled over after taking that punch.
