Rising welterweight prospect Jaron Ennis appears to be a fan of Betty Hutton’s show tune “Anything You Can Do.”

When it comes to comparing himself to the crème de la crème of the top 147-pounders in the world, the five-year pro Ennis (26-0, 24 KOs) believes he’s more equipped than one of the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighters in WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford, even channeling the famous 1940s song’s lyrics explaining why.

“I'm faster, stronger, smarter [than Crawford],” Ennis told Sway's Universe. “Whatever he could do I could do better. He's older, I'm younger. He fights right-handed. I fight right-handed. He's a great fighter. I don't take anything away from him. At the end of the day, it's boxing. If you want to be great, you have to fight the best. That's what's going to happen.”

The 23-year-old Ennis’ exuberance is a byproduct of boxing insiders continually professing that he’s the sport’s next can’t miss phenom.

The switch hitter’s stock has remained at such a high level that the Philadelphia-based fighter has mostly found it impossible to find tough matchups to test his ceiling.

Ennis, who comes from a family of former fighters, is ranked in the top ten by the sanctioning bodies and he believes he’s at the precipice of a world championship opportunity.

When asked who he believes is the world’s top 147 pounders, Ennis lists, in order, himself, Errol Spence, Crawford, Manny Pacquiao and Shawn Porter.

“People always say I'm a high-risk, low-reward. I've been hearing that my whole career. After [the Sergey Lipinets fight] they are not going to deny me,” said Ennis. “This is the fight I've been waiting for like two-and-a-half years. And now you guys are going to see what I'm really made of. You are going to see something special. I can't wait. I'm right there … and I can fight whoever. I’m ready for all of the big names. It’s time for me to be that elite, pay-per-view star, take over the welterweight division and show out. We're shooting for a world title by the end of 2021.”
