Dante Jardon simply doesn't have it in him to do things the easy way.

The free-swinging knockout artist from Mexico City took his local fans on a wild roller coaster ride Saturday evening, rising from the canvas to knock out Jairo Lopez inside of two rounds in their headlining bout.

As is the case with any given Jardon fight, there was nary a dull moment for as long (or as short) as the action lasted. Lopez threatened to pull off the upset, overcoming a sea of power punches to catch a wide-open Jardon and put him on the canvas early in round two.

The sequence was more of a wake-up call than anything else for Jardon, who recovered and returned to old form. Lopez paid the price as he was put down and out in the very same round, counted out at 2:27 of round two.

Jardon picks up his third straight win, improving to 27-5 (22KOs). Lopez has a four-fight win streak snapped, falling to 18-4 (12KOs).

Whereas Jardon lives to brawl another day, the once high-flying career of Adrian Hernandez appears to have come to a crashing halt.

The former two-time junior flyweight champion suffered the third loss in his past four fights, including a second straight defeat at the hands of Saul 'Baby' Juarez. Barely two months after enduring a cuts-induced stoppage, Hernandez landed on the wrong end of a 10-round split decision in the evening's chief support.

By his own admission, Hernandez (30-5-1, 19KOs) was ill-prepared in their first fight on May 30, coming in as if all he had to do was show up in order to win. The 29-year old was in far better condition this time around, but it still wasn't enough to turn around his career.

One judge had the former champion winning 96-94, but was overruled by scores of 96-94 and 96-93 in favor of Juarez (22-4, 12KOs), who rose from the canvas to repeat his major upset scored earlier this year. The knockdown was offset by Hernandez receiving a point deduction for an accidental clash of heads.

The show aired live on Televisa in Mexico.
