Citizens Business Bank Arena, Ontario, California - In a fight which took place at a catch-weight of 172-pounds, former super middleweight world champion James DeGale (25-2-1, 15 KOs) knocked out Fidel Munoz (39-19) in three rounds.

DeGale vacated his title a few months ago, when the sanctioning body ordered him to face mandatory challenger Jose Uzcategui.

The Olympic gold medal winner last fought in April, when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Caleb Truax in a rematch - which saw DeGale reclaim the IBF belt after suffering a huge upset loss to Truax in their first bout in December 2017.

Junior flyweight prospect Jesse Rodriguez (7-0, 4 KOs), who is trained by veteran coach Robert Garcia, battered Edwin Reyes (8-4-3, 5 KOs) to win an eight round unanimous decision. The scores were 80-72, 80-72 and 79-73.

It took Rodriguez a few rounds to figure Reyes out. Once he did, he hurt Reyes and had him in some trouble at the end of the fourth.

During the fifth, Rodriguez once again had Reyes hurt and in serious trouble. Reyes managed to stay on his feet and weathered the storm. Rodriguez continued to punish Reyes for the three remaining rounds.

Welsh light heavyweight prospect Kody Davies (8-0, 3 KOs) made his American debut with an eight round unanimous decision over Jerhed Fenderson (4-7, 2 KOs). All three judges saw it 80-72.

Davies was mostly jabbing in the first, before picking up the pace with harder punches in the second round. For the the remainder of the contest, Davies was calmly outboxing Fenderson round after round. Nothing appeared to be hurting Febderson, who was simply outclassed.

Junior welterweight Omar Juarez (1-0) made his pro debut with a four round unanimous decision over Matt Gavers (0-1).

Gavers came out strong and he was aggressive. Juarez was picking him off. In the third round, Gavers connected well with several good punches. Gavers continued to make it a hard fight in the fourth, as Juarez was using a stiff jab to keep him away.

The scores were 39-37, 39-37, 40-36.

Super featherweight prospect Arnold Alejandro (8-0, 7 KOs) stopped Francisco Camacho (7-9-1, 3 KOs) in the fifth round.

Alejandro came out firing from the first round, throwing big punches from the opening minute. In the second, Alejandro busted Camacho's mouth with a big shot. He applied more pressure and was going right after Camacho for the finish, but couldn't get it.

In the third, Alejandro was targeting the body more often and going back upstairs with hard combinations. Camacho took more punishment in the fourth and fifth, to the point where it appeared to be close to the end.

Camacho got on his bike in the fifth and was circling around all over the ring to avoid exchanges. Alejandro finally caught up with him, with a series of shots in the corner to put Camacho down - and the fight was waved off.
