In the Main Event, rising prospect & current Australian Super Middleweight Champion Jake Carr (6-0) will face his stiffest test to date when her squares off with rugged gatekeeper Mohammed Akrong (19-6).

Since turning pro in 2012, Carr has been victorious in all 6 previous fights.  Seemingly on the fast track to boxing super stardom capturing the Australian Super Middleweight Title in only his 5th pro fight.  He is also ranked #2 in Australian Super Middleweight only behind current WBC Champ Sakio Bika.

Recently Boxingscene.com had the chance to catch up with Carr to discuss his upcoming fight as well as his career, training, future, and more.  The following is what Carr had to say:

Boxingscene.com:  How how training camp been for your fight on this weekend?

Carr: My training camp has been awesome for this fight Saturday night...I've put in a lot of hard work, I spent a week training and sparring with former world champ Daniel Geale.

Boxingscene.com: What do you know about your opponent? Is there any flaws you feel you can expose?

Carr: I know he is a fit strong opponent that is coming to win. I'll be ready for anything he brings on the night.

Boxingscene.com: With a victory over Akrong, what will be your plans for 2014? How active do you plan to stay?

Carr: A win over Akrong will set me up for the PABA super middleweight title. Barry has shows and fights lined up for me to stay active.

Boxingscene.com: For fans around the world who are not familiar with you. how did you start boxing?

Carr: I grew up around boxing with my dad being a former Australian super middleweight champ, Commonwealth champ and OPBF champ and was something that I naturally fit into.

Boxingscene.com: Who are some of the fighters who have inspired you?

Carr: My dad and Barry Michael are some of the fighters who have inspired me.

Boxingscene.com: How would you describe your style?

Carr: I'm a skillful fighter that loves the hard tough stuff on the inside and loves to go to war when it's required.

Boxingsceme.com: What are some of your favorite fights to watch?

Carr: I love watching the Roy Jones jnr of the 90's, love all his fights.

Boxingscene.com: How long do you plan on staying in the Australian domestic level?

Carr: It's hard to put a time on it because I know I still have fighters here to fight and still need to improve but would like to he within 24 months if all goes to plan.

Boxingscene.com: If victorious do you have anyone in particular you would like to face next?

Carr: When victorious I want to fight WBA #8 Junior Talipeau or Ben McCollock.

Boxingscene.com: Are you excited that your fight will be shown around the world via GFL.tv?

Carr:  I am excited for the opportunity to have my fight live on GFL.tv! It's great exposure to the world to witness a great night of fights!

Boxingscene.com: What can fans in attendance or watching at home, around the world, expect from you when you step in the ring?

Carr: They can expect me to give my everything and fights till the final bell!
