MEXICO CITY - Mexico's Jair "Kaiser" Valtierra defeated Argentina's Javier Jose "Heredero" Clavero by unanimous decision, 98-92, 100-91 and 98-92, to become the WBC Fecarbox silver lightweight champion on EstrellaTV's monthly boxing series, Boxeo EstrellaTV.  The series is broadcast live from the Foro Centenario in Mexico City.

The youngster from Leon had to use his experience to come back in the fight after he injured his left hand in the third round, overcoming a tough opponent who fought him all the way.

Clavero managed to go ahead in points in the early rounds, but without hurting Valtierra significantly, while Jair tried to get Clavero against the ropes and look for the knockout.

The judges scored the first four 38-38, 40-37, and 39-37, two of them in favor of Valtierra, while in the second tally of scores, the numbers were 78-74, 90-73, and 79-73, all in favor of Jair.

Blows seemed to bring the battle to the brink of knockout, but neither man went down. Valtierra finally outscored his opponent in the late rounds, so the judges' unanimous decision was for the "Kaiser" of Leon.

In the co-feature of the night, Mexico City's Ernesto Salcedo added a loss to his record, being defeated by Mexico City's Ivan "Bam Bam" Hernandez in a unanimous decision, 74-77, 74-77 and 74-77, in an eight-round fight at super bantamweight.
