Jackie Nava and Mariana Juárez are eager to meet in a ring. And they are convinced that they will do so this year. They are just waiting for the date.

The “Princess Azteca” Nava (35-4-4, 16 KO's) and “La Barbie” Juárez (54-9-4, 18 KO's) came together for a joint virtual interview with Box Azteca, in which they showed respect as women and as boxers who are mothers of families.

“It has not been easy to combine these facets, but we have managed to get ahead. My daughter is my motivation and has been able to push me to achieve important successes. This fight against Jackie is very important to me because it is facing one of the best Mexican boxers in history and without a doubt the best in the lower weights,” said Mariana.

Jackie Nava, meanwhile, said that the support of her family has been essential to break through and succeed in the boxing world.

"I always said that as soon as I had my first child, I was going to retire, but after my rest I started training, my husband has always been there, accompanying me in my training, taking care of the girls, and they are the ones who give me that strength to keep going," confided the “Princess Azteca”, who reiterated that she has little time left in active boxing “because I already have other activities and other tasks to perform outside the ring."

The terms of the fight (date, venue, belt and weight) will be details that will be resolved between the promoters and the World Boxing Council, "but it is a fact that the fight will take place," both agreed.

“The date and the details that remain to be set are set by the promoters. They just tell me the date, and we'll sign," said Nava.

For Jackie, her mind is therefore only in the fight against Juarez, which he hopes can be finalized this summer, once the restrictions on public activities due to the coronavirus pandemic are over, and they receive a convenient date.

"We don't have a date, but that the fight is done, it is done," said Juárez.
